
Benjamin Newsome is originally from West Yorkshire in the UK and started his performing at 3 years of age at Sarah Sutton School Of Performing Arts.
At 17 Ben went to train professionally at Laine Theatre Arts in Epsom leaving with medals in LAMDA, ISTD & RAD.
Whilst at college he appeared in “The Name of The Game” & “Seeing Tomorrow” both directed by Betty Laine, he was also a lead soloist in “The Lucky Stiff “as Vinnie & “Is There Life After High School” both directed by the legendary Tudor Davies.
In January 2007 Ben ended the highest selling pantomime performance in Britain as a dancer in Alladin at the Regent Theatre in Stoke appearing alongside famous acts such as Jonathan Wilkes (Rocky Horror, Grease, Tommy ) and Vicky Entwistle (Janice in Coronation Street). Before that he could be seen playing a villager in Catford at the Broadway Theatre in Snow White, understudying the role of the Prince.
Early 2007 Ben took part in a workshop of the new musical “24 Zero” written by Phoenix Theatrical with musical compositions by 'So You Think You Can Dance' finalist 'Robbie White'.
Benjamin left college to go straight on board the Carnival Conquest cruise ship dancing his way from Texas to the Caribbean in 5 different production shows. Also starring in “Deja the Diva of Deception” a prolific magic show straight from Las Vegas with the famous magician Deja. Then appearing in numerous shows one of which choreographed by Minnie Madden on board the Carnival Pride.
Whilst out in LA Ben appeared in 'Shape' magazine and 'Mens Fitness'.
Returning to London saw Ben appear in numerous films such as 'Cemetery Junction' and numerous commercials most noteably for 'Nokia'.
Ben then toured Italy and Sicily playing the lead role 'Nick Piazza' in the musical 'Fame', gaining crazy credability in Italy with his fellow cast.
Having finished 'Fame', Ben jumped straight into his next lead part in the musical workshops of 'Vavoom' as the love interest 'Johnny'.
The next few months were a busy period, appearing in commercials for 'Mars Bar' & 'Sky Sports' also wearing an Everton shirt for the new Sky 3D advertisements seen on the side of buses, posters and magazines.(Even though he's a huge Leeds fan)
In his spare time Ben lends his voice to various performances and enjoys assisting at auditions.
Benjamin is now looking forward to starting a contract in a musical variety show in Norfolk, 'Sea side speacial'.
